Not long ago, I think it was just weeks when we looked for a house to rent. We are not really comfortable in a pad that doesn’t have proper ventilation. Well, we have seen several houses and buildings that are too risky.
I don’t actually want to leave in a place where I won’t feel safe. Not just against burglary, but with fire. There was this building that offers quite a nice room, but doesn’t have emergency exits and EXIT SIGNS. We all know the importance of exit signs and emergency lighting in emergency situation. Although the price is not that much, I am not interested in it.
I do understand that it is difficult to maintain the proper working conditions of the exit and emergency lighting system of the property. But, as we talked to renters of the building its part of their problem as well. The owner promised to install exit sign before anything will happen, the sad thing it never materialized. They fear the worst thing might happen any time. Although they want to transfer, they can’t because the place offers them affordable rent.
I won’t risk for affordable rate. I only have one life, so I have to protect it the best possible way I can think of. Well, at least now we found an apartment that doesn’t require exit sign since it is a standalone small property.
