While searching the web, I came across the TransUnion Lawsuit issue. It was the first time I heard about this, although I’m already a bit late as compared to most people. Basically, TransUnion, a credit reporting company, illegally sold confidential credit information to target marketing companies in the United States between the years 1987 and 2000. The information disclosed allowed companies to target a specific market, increasing their customer base and profits. The information sold by TransUnion was confidential personal information regarding contact information, credit uses and credit scores, and should have remained private under federal law.

Woo… This is sure an illegal act. Good thing the Court granted final approval of the class action settlement nearly two years ago. That was two years ago and no further passive registrations for benefits are being accepted. But, you may still file a direct lawsuit against TransUnion in order to make a claim for a portion of the $75 million settlement fund. O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath law office can help you with that.
