I am really trying hard to be organized, in fact my wife called me obsessive compulsive (OC) person. I dream about clutter-free countertops, color coded filing systems, labeled pantry supplies, and empty email in-boxes. I’ve recently learned about the professional organizer’s secret weapon, the zip ties.
These are inexpensive fasteners made from nylon, plastic or other sturdy, engineered material made into thin strands. One side of the strand has “teeth” that catch when looped through the locking, square “pawl” found at the end of the strand. Simply loop the tie around whatever you are grouping or containing and then pull it through. Usually, zip ties are a “one time use” item and are cut for removal. Luckily, they are very inexpensive.
